Hi! My name is Anna, and I’m a voice coach! I’m here to help you reach your trans voice goals, whether that’s a more feminine, masculine, or androgynous voice.
I teach both speaking voice or singing voice.
More about me as a transgender voice coach
I started teaching as a transgender voice coach in 2013. I was studying voice in college to become a professional singer and voice teacher, and found myself working with three main groups of students quite naturally: transgender people wanting to alter their voice, rock/metal singers, and voice actors.
There has always been something special to me about working with those three groups of people, and a lot of parallels: many voice teachers don’t or can’t work with these groups, yet access to lessons for these students are every bit as important.
The Transgender Community
Working with transgender people specifically has always been something I am passionate about. Being a part of the greater queer community, I’ve always wanted to help queer people of all kinds, and teaching this particular type of voice training was a way I could both do that and use my expertise as a voice teacher.
Presentations as a Transgender Voice Coach
I have had the opportunity to speak and present for many trans health organizations and events: Rainbow Health Cooperative, Diversity Center of Oklahoma, OKEQ, Keystone Conference, Main Event, various universities, the National Association for the Teachers of Singing, and various PFLAG chapters, just to name a few!
You can learn to not only speak in your new voice, but sing in your new voice too! I teach singing lessons too, for those that have altered or not altered their voice with trans voice training.
Want to read more about lessons with me? I have a page on developing a more feminine voice. I also have a page on achieving a masculine voice. There’s also a page on achieving an androgynous voice. Lastly, if you’re looking for more transition-related providers or care, I also maintain a resource page.
